Amateur tournament series 2025 - Dates

Tournament schedule 2025:

The dart club DC Zugerland continues the dart amateur series in 2025 with a new monthly tournament format:

  • » Always on Fridays
  • » Warm-up from 18:30
  • » Start at 19:00
  • » Planned end around 23:00 Uhr

Categories & game modes – what do s/o and d/o mean?

  • Categories:
    •      » d/o (Double-Out)
              You must finish the game and reach zero by hitting a double field.
    •      » s/o (Straight-Out)
              You can finish and reach zero by hitting any single, double, or triple field.
       
  • Tournament Format:
    •      » Qualification round – group matches first
    •      » Depending on the number of participants, a knockout round
              (if suitable then 2 parallel A and B knockout rounds)
    •      » Each player gets at least 4 matches and can play up to 7-8 matches based on performance
    •      » The exact format depends on the number of players
       

 

What happens if two tournaments take place on the same evening (s/o + d/o)?

  •   » These dual tournament nights are primarily designed
          for groups or pairs who play in different categories
          but are open to everyone. (Early registration is recommended for pairs/groups.)
  •   » Players can only participate in one series per evening.
  •   » s/o players are allowed to join d/o tournaments.
  •   » d/o players who perform in the top half (based on points/participation) should not join s/o tournaments..
  •   » For the final tournament, the category in which a player participated more often will be considered

    IMPORTANT – Registration Numbers vs. Multiple Categories:

  •      » Sometimes, two tournaments run simultaneously, and the number of participants per category is not predetermined.
  •      » Total number of players is limited to 24
  •      » Important: If a category seems full, register anyway!,
            The player distribution can change depending on demand for the other category.
            The number of spots per category may adjust during the registration phase....

     

Invitational Final Tournament – January 2026 (Free Entry & Prizes)

Invitations go to:

  •           » Top-ranked players from the overall leaderboard.
  •           » Randomly selected players who have participated in a sufficient number of qualification tournaments.
  •           » One-time participants are welcome,
                 but for the invitation draw, at least 4 d/o tournament participations or 3 s/o tournament participations are required.

     

Participation rules

  •  » This tournament is for recreational players!
         
    Do not register if you are licensed or play in a higher regional league
  •  » After consultation with the organizers, players from the lowest league may be accepted as a trial.
         Past tournaments have shown that d/o recreational players compete at eye level with the lowest league players.
  •  » For recreational players who are unsure to participate at a tournament:
         Give it a try! You’ll get plenty of matches anyway, and If needed, you can switch to the s/o series..
     

Tournament size:

  • » The tournament will take place with at least 12 participants
  • » Maximum number of players: 24.

           You will be
           - added to the system,
           - signed up to the tournament list
           - and receive a player ID for future online registrations to events
  •      » Email subject:Darts-amateur tournament
  •      » Category to play:Double-Out (d/o) or Straight-Out (s/o)
  •      » Phone number (for any tournament-related issues)
  •      » Full name (first & last name)
  •      » You will receive a confirmation email shortly.
     
  • » Encourage your friends, colleagues, or family to join!....
  •       » Everyone plays to the best of their ability
  •       » the main goal is having fun in competition.
     
  • » Last-minute sign-ups on-site are possible, but spots are not guaranteed.
  • » HINT: You can register at any time via email, even before signing up for a tournament. Registered players receive personal invitations for future events.

Costs & Benefits

  • » Entry fee: 20 CHF.
  • » High-quality loaner darts included if needed
  • » Minimum of 4 matches – and more if you advance.

     

Scoring System

» Scores are recorded via an app on provided tablets
    (No worries about math – the app does the work, and we help each other!)

 

Usual prcedure at tournament day

  • » Upon arrival:
       Please inform reception that you are registered for the darts tournament.
  • » Refreshments / meals: 
       Get them directly at the restaurant or order upstairs during the tournament.
  • » Darts room location:
       Take the spiral staircase at reception.Turn right and go all the way to the back on the right.
  • » Entry fee payment:
       pay at the darts room before the tournament starts– cash or TWINT to 079 382 12 61
  • » Running late?
       Please just notify us before the tournament starts.
